Shakespeare in the Park at the Dogwood Performance Pavilion is a beloved annual tradition hosted by the Cookeville Department of Leisure Services Cultural Arts Division, entering its 22nd season this October 2026! This free, family-friendly event brings the timeless works of The Bard to audiences across Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland through live outdoor theatre under the open sky at Dogwood Park. All performances begin at 7 p.m. on the Dogwood Park Pavilion lawn, where guests are encouraged to bring blankets, folding chairs, and even a picnic dinner to enjoy the evening. The Dogwood Park concession stand will also be open during performances with affordable meals and snacks available. The 2026 season is currently scheduled for October 2–10, with dark nights on Monday and Tuesday. The season will conclude on October 10 with the Dogwood Shakespeare Festival during the afternoon leading to the closing performance that evening.
