Description
Mark your calendar to join the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber for our Annual Meeting! This year's event will highlight the work done by the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber, the Highland's Economic Partnership and the Putnam County Visitors Bureau. Start your night with a drink at our hospitality hour, followed by a sit-down dinner by Grade-A Catering, then hear from leaders of our Chamber and the community!
We will be honoring six Chamber Members for their commitment to the Putnam County community in 2022. The awards were nominated by members of the community and voted on by the Executive Board of the Chamber. The categories for this year's awards are Community Enhancement, Attraction of the Year, Tourism Experience, Employer of the Year - Small Division, Employer of the Year - Large Division, and Economic Impact.
We have the honor of hosting WIN Learning CEO Teresa Chasteen-Dunn as our keynote speaker! Teresa earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Tennessee, as well as a seminary degree, and completed a post-doctoral program in education policy and governance at Harvard University. After graduate school, Teresa returned to Roane State as an assistant professor. She later taught at Pellissippi Sate, Hiwassee College, and in the graduate program at the Tennessee Tech University satellite campus in Roane County.
Teresa founded WIN Learning (WIN) in 1996. More than 10 million learners have participated in WIN Learning's (winlearning.com) programs. WIN has clients in all 50 states and 10 countries, and the company has won multiple national awards for its curriculum in recent years. EdTech Digest named her among the top 100 People Making a Difference for Digital Learning Now. Teresa is heavily involved in the community and in ministry and nonprofit work, including raising funds for TOMS shoes which resulted in a Guinness World Record, Knox Area Rescue Ministries, Relay for Life, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Teresa climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2012 to raise funds for Treasures of Africa AIDS Orphanage. She is an active member of Life Church and has served on the Mustard Seed Ranch Board of Directors for three years and is now Chairman of the MSR Board.
